Background
The Emeritus Activity Group (EAG) is a highly energized group of IRI emeriti who were senior technology executives and IRI member-company Voting Representatives or Representatives. Members of the EAG are fully involved in second careers, in a broad spectrum of positions such as deans of engineering schools, principals of VC funds, CEOs of start-up companies, and heads of technology incubators, and consultants.
Mission
The EAG mission is to provide special support to the Institute in its many programs and initiatives, using the talents, abilities, and experience of its members.
Criteria for Membership
An IRI Representative is eligible for EAG membership upon retirement from industry, provided he or she has been in IRI for eight years, has served on at least three separate committees, and/or have been a Board Member of the IRI, applies for membership, and pays the one-time lifetime membership dues. Ninety-eight (98) Emeritus Representatives to date are signed up. For more information, contact Ludita Vallarta (vallarta@iriinc.org) at IRI headquarters.
Highlight of the Year
In 2007, the IRI asked the EAG to assist in the development of a sustainable growth model for the Institute. Over a six-month period, seven EAG members using value innovation methodology pioneered by the Value Innovation RoR working groups, identified opportunities for the IRI to increase the value it provides its member companies. The Institute is in the process of implementing the recommendations and opportunities identified by the EAG.
