RTM Article Submission Guidelines

Research-Technology Management welcomes manuscripts that deal with enhancing the effectiveness of technological innovation.

Manuscripts are reviewed by the Board of Editors, within approximately 6- 8 weeks. Reviewers look for ideas and information that will help senior industrial R&D/technology leaders run their operations more effectively. This means an emphasis on “real-world experience that can be applied by practitioners across a broad spectrum of industries.

Articles based primarily on research studies should, therefore, de-emphasize methodology in favor of explaining: 1) what the investigators learned, and 2) why those findings could be useful to industry managers.

Manuscripts may be submitted for review electronically or on good paper (not faxed), double-spaced, and paginated. References and notes should be numbered in the order in which they are cited, listed only once and at the end of the article, and written to conform to the Chicago Manual of Style.

Illustrations should be individually numbered and furnished one per page on 8-1/2 x 11-inch white paper. They should be suitable for black-and-white reproduction, without redrawing. Consequently, text within the illustrations should be large enough to be readable after reduction and prepared in a single sans serif typestyle (preferably the standard “Helvetica.”) Do not use color, light lines or shading/strippling. Instead, use heavy lines, and hatching or cross-hatching to distinguish areas of interest.

If your manuscript has been published elsewhere, or is currently under consideration by another publication, this should be made clear.

Thank you for your interest in Research-Technology Management.
