IRI Honorary Fellow
The IRI Honorary Fellow recognizes and rewards individuals who have made an outstanding contribution in the field of industrial research or who has rendered exceptional and meritorious service to the Institute. Honorary Fellows are inducted during IRI's Member Summit.

Nominations:
If recommended for having made an outstanding contribution in the field of industrial research, the individual must have made:
- A contribution to innovation and R&D recognized outside of their company/organization/institution as evidenced by awards, citations and/or honorary appointments in other organizations, societies, institutes and academies, or by the individual's company, organization or institution.
If recommended for having rendered exceptional and meritorious service to the Institute, the individual must:
- Be actively involved in the IRI and has been for a minimum of 10 years, has been a member company Representative and/or Voting Representative during at least 5 of those 10 years, and has either served on the IRI Board and/or has served as an IRI Committee or Network Chair or has chaired multiple ROR working groups; and,
- Effectively promote the image, values and mission of IRI within the Institute's membership as well as external to the Institute
Honorary Fellows will:
- Serve as an advisor to the IRI Leadership, Committees, and ROR working groups on matters where their industrial research perspective and/or their IRI historical perspective would be beneficial.
- Participate in government, academic and/or NGO events, hearings, reviews and proceedings (Event) that are related to the mission of IRI, could impact IRI and/or IRI member companies, at the request of the IRI President of Board of Directors. (Fellows will not charge IRI for his/her time for travel or participation in the Event.)
Nominations must be received by the IRI President prior to May 1, 2008. They will be compiled and presented to the Board of Directors for approval during the summer of 2008 before being submitted to the membership for confirmation during the Fall of 2008. Any Fellows, so nominated, approved and elected will be inducted during the Member Summit of this year.
